Pediatrician

Your pediatrician may prefer that you make the routine visits to certain hours, for example, in office hours. Do not wait to get dark to consult your pediatrician about a problem that began during the day.
If you are not sure that the child should be seen, call your doctor by phone. Where necessary, immediately set a date, or you can give instructions and advice if the visit is not necessary.
Call your pediatrician
Before you call, take your child’s temperature and record. Ask the doctor or a brief summary of ongoing problems, as the doctor probably will not have to hand the history of their child and can not remember all the details. Also mention the medications you are taking. Have also the vaccination card, as these may be relevant to assess certain situations by telephone.
If possible, have your child around: especially if large, may clarify some details (you can tell where it hurts, and you do not have to go to another room to answer about a rash, wound, etc …)
As your child grows
Your pediatrician may continue to be a person of reference, not only for illness or injury, but for all kinds of advice about physical and mental health, including: sports medicine, nutrition, emotional and behavioral problems, school problems . family problems like divorce, illness of a family member, etc …
And adolescent problems such as:
• Changes of puberty, growth and development, relationships with adults and other teenagers.
• The body changes during puberty.
• Ability to feel good about oneself and others.
• eating disorders, acne, problems of violence, prevention of smoking, alcoholism and drug addiction.
